I am putting on some pounds. How do I set realistic goals? I've done the yo-yo dieting thing, and frankly diets turn me off and I don't want to sink money in to a gym membership. Also I'm extremely busy, my days are packed with activity, and I have not found the proper motivation to get back in the groove again. Any advice.

A: Honestly ?if you are looking to reduce your body fat, 80% of the battle with that is going to be what you are eating and the best recommendation I can give you is to work with a registered dietician in order to get your metabolism tested and have a food program designed to perfectly match the calories that your body burns daily. This takes the guessing yo-yo game out of dieting. Secondly, the other 20% of the battle is going to be your exercise program. We all have crazy schedules, 80 hour work weeks, families, etc. But if you really want to make your health a priority, you need to do just that. Put your workouts in your schedule just like everything else with just as much priority as the other things. Goal-wise: give yourself finite time schedules to meet and schedule workouts that you can easily stick to. For example, start the 1st four weeks with just adding 3 workouts a week into your schedule for 45 minutes each. Then you can slowly increase these times as you want. Trust me, once you have a couple months of consistency under your belt, the workouts and the good feeling you get from them will become addictive. Good luck!
