What, exactly, does a fashion stylist do?
------------------------------------------------------
A: The description of a Fashion Stylist varies with the job they take. If they are contracted to work on a catalog job, then they act more like a merchandiser. You have to dress the models according to the image of the company and carry that image throughout the entire job. For instance, if you were working on a J. Crew account, you would never dress the models
like you did last week when you worked for Victoria's Secret. You would have to stick to the image of J.Crew. As for TV & Film, a stylist is more of a painter or an illustrator. You are hired because you can create a characters personality through their wardrobe and style.
