When are Porcelain Jackets recommended?
------------------------------------------------------
A: Porcelain jacket crowns are very similar in character to a porcelain veneer, except that they cover from more of a tooth’s surface. This type of restoration can wrap around the tooth and cover up to ¾ or even all surfaces of the tooth. A porcelain jacket is recommended when a tooth is generally broken down or has sustained significant loss of structure. This restoration is perhaps the most esthetic ceramic crown because it is bonded to the tooth, has greater depth of color and is opalescent.
